Quick Update on Granny 'Ghan
The squares are all sewn together, the edging is done. Only a few ends left to weave in and then I'll post a picture of the finished object for you. I still have a few afghans left to make this year. I have to make one for a friend of ours because he has been so kind with helping with carpentry type things at our house and has given dh a few paying jobs to do. Another I need to make is for my son and dil for a Christmas present. The 3rd afghan is for an aunt of mine. I've made all my other aunts and uncles one and I want to give her one too because she's a special lady. And the 4th one is for my dear brother because I love the kid him. Guess I'll be busy for a while. Take care and stay tuned for the reveal....
A few squares I used in this project. I know, I used this picture before. :)

WIP Wednesday-- 22 June 2011
I had put this afghan of granny squares aside for a little while but now I have the squares all sewn together and I'm working on the edging. Hopefully in a few days I'll be able to show you a completed 'ghan. This picture is just a small look so I don't ruin the final reveal lol!

Hey--
Since some of you have taken the time and effort to make buttons to link to your page, let me know if you have one and I'll post it on a special page that lists them. I started going through some of the blogs I read but there are so many of them that it is a big chore. Drop me a line and I'll grab yours and post on the special page I have. Hugs....

Completed: Cloche for Little Girl
Gosh I love how this turned out! I just hope it fits the little girl I have in mind to give it to. I used this pattern: http://crochet.about.com/od/hats/a/crocheted-cloche-hat-free-pattern.htm and I used a different flower: http://tallennl.livejournal.com/13248.html. I used the pattern for the large flower.
I know I mentioned in a previous post that my gauge was way off so I had to down-size my hook from a G to a D. I modified the ruffle by using triple crochets and slip stitches instead of double crochets and single crochets. I'm not fond of patterns that say to crochet until project reaches a certain size but overall, I am happy with the results.
Hope everyone is having a great week.

(Credit) Card Services--Identity Thieves Called AGAIN
I have been fighting this company and have made innumerable reports to the "Do Not Call" registry and "Card Services" keep calling me. Twice last month they called and I let it slide. My husband said he also answered when they called. The number they called from today (12:35 pm) is a wireless number 347-504-4345. They steal identities and cause a lot of problems for people so watch out if you get a call from them. I'm off to file ANOTHER report.

A Child Sized Cloche
I'm making a Daisy Mae Crochet Cloche for a pre-school aged little girl out of white cotton ww yarn. I was crocheting along after neglecting to check my gauge (Bad Sharon) and realized that it was turning out HUGE! I frogged it and ended up using a much smaller hook to make it (D instead of G). I'm probably about 85% complete now and hope to finish it up today or tomorrow. Then it's back to the 'ghan I was making. Here's the hat so far:
Y'all take care :-)

Finished Scarf Starts with a Square
I finished this about a month ago and never put pictures on my blog. The only thing I don't like about this scarf is that this time the edges rolled. I ironed it lightly but that made the ridges flatten a bit so I'll do a quick wash and lay it flat to dry. OK, enough chattering and here are the pictures:
Have a good day....
Just noticed there's an orb or some sort of spot in the center of the square. You get the idea anyway. This pattern starts with the square that you ripple around 2 of the corners. The colors in this picture are the true colors of the Caron Simply Soft yarn I used.
That's the finished project :)
Have a good day....
Blogger is Weird
In the list of blogs I access from my blogger dashboard, I was reading the updated ones tonight and there is one that I had enjoyed in the past and it's now a private blog. I wonder why it still shows up with a short intro to the new post when it is now private and I can't go there anymore? Doesn't make sense.

I Made a Button for My Blog!

I've been fooling around all night trying to make a blog button. This is something that I've tried in the past and haven't had any luck with so it really became a mission. I went to numerous blogs and Youtube videos for help but something always ended up wrong. Finally I went to the blog Developing a Heart for Home and copy and pasted their instructions onto a blank document and plugged in my info and it WORKED! Yippee!!! If you'd like to get my button, the code is in the column on your right. I'm going to bed now zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
An Old School Cartoon
I've always loved the old-school cartoons. Sometimes they'd come on after school or on Saturday mornings when I was a little girl and I'd hurry up with homework or breakfast to not miss a minute of them. It is amazing how low-tech cartoons were back in the day! Here's one for you to reminisce over or to become acquainted with:

Coupon for Chicken
I remember just a few minutes ago that I had promised to post a link for a good coupon but I haven't been doing it. I'm getting with the program and posting a link here for $1 off chicken. You will have to look at the top of the screen on the right hand side to see where to click for the coupon. Hope this helps. Hugs...

I'm Finally Back in Blogland...
I'm finally back here in blogland after my visit with friends in California. I left California on Wednesday afternoon at 3:15 and I arrived in Louisville at 12:45 putting me home at 2 a.m. I was feeling a bit under the weather when I left and have been fighting the flu or something ever since.
While I was gone, the garden under dh's tender care has grown tremendously. Unfortunately, I should have planted the sweet potato vine I had growing because it turned into a stinky pile of mush.
While I was gone, I visited yard/garage sales and a few thrift stores with my friends.
We also visited 2 casinos and no one won :( --

And a square dishcloth:
I missed all of you. I'm glad to be home and hope to be up to par soon! Hugs...

I found this at a thrift store. I'm going to try to "rescue" it. There is a stain on it. I got it for free because of the stain.
Haul of yarn from yard sale. The variegated color is what I need to finish
the topsy turvy doll I have on hiatus!

This one is in the SF Bay area.

This one is in San Jacinto
I crocheted a "few" dishcloths too. I love this pattern from Lion Brand Yarns. I did "tweak" the pattern a bit and on some of the cloths I put a scalloped edge.
This is a super-sized one my friend Laurie wanted to use as a doily.
Then I made some scrappy dishcloths for everyday use. I really don't like to waste any yarn-- cotton yarn has really gone up in price!

Summer is Just about Here...

Summer is just about here. Memorial Day weekend has always been special in our family. First off, my baby brother was born on the traditional day to celebrate Memorial Day--May 30th. Happy birthday little brother! Another thing that many of you in my age category may recall, on Memorial Day we could start wearing our white shoes again! For you younger folks, white shoes were taboo except for between Memorial Day and Labor Day. I don't know why, that's just the way it was. Memorial Day was the start of summer fun--school was almost out, the cold weather was gone and it was time to cut loose and have a bit of swimming. I'm going to take a break starting tomorrow for about a week and a half and visit some of my good friends from my younger days. Things have been happening at home that have me big time stressed but I won't bother all of you about them. Let's just say this jaunt is what the doctor orders. My crochet hook and yarn are packed and ready to go! Any of you have special plans for this weekend and your summer?
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and a great summer

Big Picture Money Saving Tip--

We all need to save money and one thing that will help us is to not allow high school students to drive to school except for extraordinary situations. The price of gas is partially determined by the law of supply and demand. Decrease the use of gas and the price goes down. One of the other things is the value of the dollar and we all know that's not worth much today. Another way we will save is a decrease of the expense of maintaining parking lots on school campuses. You know, there are school buses that we already pay for to transport these kids to school. Perhaps we can increase the age teens get their drivers licenses to 18? Bet I'm not making friends here. Have a great day....
I Have to Share this With You--
When I was a very young little girl, I remember seeing the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show; it's been a love affair ever since. As I was surfing around in Youtube, I saw the video of this show! Ladies and gentleman--THE BEATLES!
