I received these videos in an email and I have to share them with you. This little girl was on the Britain's Got Talent show. At the time of the first video she was only 6 years old. Her name is Connie Talbot. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did with my watery eyes :-).

Just a Suggestion...

I just want to make a suggestion. Many of the blogs I read have music or sound effects on them. I like most of them. Sometimes, I'm listening to audio books (multi-tasking) when I'm on my computer--multitasking you know. So, I just want to suggest that you can turn off the music and let your readers manually start it. I ended up doing that with mine after a friend suggested it to me. If you were a teen in the 70s, you might like to play my music player. Thanks...

I have to admit that I don't keep up with the latest in music. I usually listen to classic rock music and dh listens to classic country. My friend was telling that she had to buy the CD with the following song on it. Of course, being the stick in the mud I am, I hadn't heard it so I had to find it on Youtube and I LOVE it! I really liked this song when it came out.  The beat was catchy and I got into tapping my feet to it.  For me, it wasn't a put down of short people but rather a humorous way to look at height because at the time I was very self-conscious of being tall.  To all my short friends, I love you and thanks for putting up with me.

Happy Birthday Pete Seeger!

On this day, May 3rd, in 1919, Pete Seeger was born. That means today is his 91st birthday! Pete Seeger is a musician, singer, songwriter, folklorist, labor activist, environmentalist, and peace advocate. He was born in Patterson, New York. A couple of his songs that you may remember are Where Have All The Flowers Gone and Turn, Turn, Turn.  Here is a video of Mr. Seeger singing one of his compositions.  You may want to go to the column on your right side and mute the blog's music player before playing these videos.

Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki Marry on this Date (December 17th) in 1969

Herbert Buchingham Khaury more commonly known as Tiny Tim married Miss Vicki (Victoria Budinger) on this date in 1969 on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson.  Tiny Tim was known for his 1920ish  falsetto version of Tiptoe Through the Tulips.  You  may want to visit The Official Tiny Tim Web Site for more information on this flamboyant musician.
