Entry for September 22, 2006

On this day in history 1776-- Nathan Hale, a Connecticut schoolteacher and captain in the Continental Army, is executed by the British for spying. A famous quote attributed to Hale is "I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." The American Revolution web site has a very interesting write up on Hale and contains numerous links to sites on Hale. Please visit here http://www.americanrevolution.com/NathanHale.htm .

Today is a great day--I start work again! I'm going to be substitute teaching for Hardin County Schools here in KY. I really want a full time regular job but this one will at least get my foot in the door so to speak. I have amassed an extensive collection of printed works to supplement classroom instruction if I should ever be fortunate enough to get my own position as social studies teacher. This collection has taken over my family room to such an extent that I've had to get rid of the majority of my works of fiction! Maybe I should take a picture of my collection and post it here. Mmmmm, interesting thought! lol!

Take care all, and I'll let you know later how it went. ---Sharon
