Monday's Link to Free Crochet Pattern (25 July 2016)

Today's link is a free pattern to make a granny rectangle. I think it would be great to make a throw out of these for a little bit different look. Have fun!

Monday's Link to Free Crochet Pattern (18 July 2016) Sale Info Too...

Today's link is for a pattern for a mandala. It is decorative but not overly fussy just the way I like them. Check it out and if you make one let me know what you think.

Michaels has Sugar 'n Cream yarn on sale for $1! It would be great to add to the hoard stash. I came home with a good sized bag of it and it's in the car waiting for an opportune time to bring it in the house. Husband is good about my stash acquisitions; on the other hand, I get a guilty conscious. ;)

Have a great week and stay cool....

Monday's Link to Free Crochet Pattern (11 July 2016)

I almost missed posting a pattern today but I caught it with a few hours left in the day. This pattern is something I'm working on now. So far, it has been fairly easy. I spent quite a bit of time looking for a stocking hat pattern until I found this one. I even bought a pattern from Amazon that was a vintage pattern but I'm not sure if there is something missing from the pattern or the way patterns were previously written that omits the number of chains to start out with. Anyway, this pattern looks great and isn't too difficult. Enjoy...

Hugs,
Sharon

Monday's Link to Free Crochet Pattern (04 July 2016)

I like practical crochet items and there's a bonus if they're pretty too. Today's link takes us to a pattern that is for a crocheted poncho that seems warm and is nice on the eyes too. Have fun with this one.

Cheers--

Sharon

Link to Free Crochet Pattern (27 June 2016)

I've been looking for a pattern for a shawl or stole that would look dressy but would be easy to make. The On the Town Shawl is the one I'm going to check out. I think it would be great wrap to toss over the shoulders for a girl going to the prom, a bride or maybe someone who just needs a shawl for casual wear. I know, I'm early thinking about making a shawl for a prom goer but it takes me a while to decide on a project and there is a small chance I might change my mind and work on something else--ya never know...

Have fun and stay hooking!

Monday's Link to Free Crochet Pattern (20 June 2016)

Today's link is to an interesting shawl that is quite different from others that I've seen. Have at it folks and let me know what you think.

Backlog of Finished Projects

The next dishcloth is  made with the above pattern but the final round is omitted.

No pattern, I just made solid granny squares. The one in browns, is made with a "G" hook and is slated to be donated to a veterans home when it opens next month. All squares are 6 rounds.

This one is made with a larger hook (I) and is a throw for a special friend. The multicolored squares are 6 rounds and the solid colored squares are 12 rounds.

Blogland has slowed down lots and lots and I am partially to blame for it. So much of it has become commercialized and not just online friends sharing their creations. I will make an effort to post more often and I hope you will too. I miss you!

Take care and crochet on...

Sharon

Monday's Link for Free Crochet Project

Here is a quick project to use to hang a small kitchen or tea towel from.

Have fun!

I've Fallen Behind!!!

I have fallen behind with my blogging. We had chores to do closing down the Florida place and back in Kentucky I've just been trying to catch up with things and  I've been so very tired. I know, sounds like excuses to me too. I apologize for not completing the A to Z Challenge. If I would have realized that I would fall so far behind, I could have written my posts ahead of time and had them scheduled to post on the appropriate day. One of these days I'll get with the program! Important news--Walmart has Peaches and Creme reduced to $1.50 so I have bought a small stash to add to my bigger stash.

I have been making granny squares  and working on assembling them into lapghans that I plan to donate to the veterans home that will be opening in our town in July (that's the latest rescheduled date). Here's a few pictures:

With the exception of yarn used to join, this is made of left overs.

Made of half scraps and half new. Joining is in progress.

Using a spool knitter to make cord. I plan to use an S hook to crochet a rug out of it. I've done this before and my little dog loves having a cozy spot to take a nap.

I have a 3rd lapghan in the works. It will have a wavy ripple design. I'm saving it to share with you later.

Take care,

Sharon

"I" is for Ice Cream!

Most of us enjoy a cold serving of ice cream in the summer time. Here's a link to a recipe to make a serving of ice cream in a bag. Sounds like a fun project for the kids.

Monday's Link to Free Crochet Pattern (11 April 2016)

Today's link is to the pattern for the beautiful Blue Star Afghan pattern. It us also available in Leisure Arts #108205, Herrschners Blue-Ribbon Afghans but it's not free there. I have included an Amazon link for their least expensive copies of this book. Some of the Amazon vendors are ridiculous with their prices of $188. The vendor I've posted a link to is a few cents over $5. Anyway, the afghan is beautiful and the first link is free so it's definitely a bargain.

Happy hooking and hugs,

Sharon

Hot off the Hook

Hot off the hook is a set of coasters. I used a pattern I came up with but haven't used too many times yet. Now hubby doesn't have excuses for the rings he's been leaving on the end table.

"H" Is for Herman's Hermits

G is for "Granny Squares"

Lately I've been making some granny squares to piece together into lapghans to donate to a charity. Here are some patterns to crochet your own squares. I am mainly making solid granny squares-- I figure those will make warmer lapghans without the holey pattern of the traditional granny squares.

Oh, here's a freebie granny square ebook from Amazon. Check it out quick because it might not be free for long.

Still Crocheting...

Here are some more finished things I crocheted.

Merry-go-round dishcloths:

Can't find the scarf and hat patterns I used for these. I don't think I downloaded them, might have just had them on the screen of my laptop while I crocheted them. The yarn is a very soft mill end I got at Joann's.

We'll be headed back to Kentucky before the end of the month but before we go, our older son is coming down to see us tomorrow (in Florida) for a quick visit. It will be great to see him and it will be nice for him because Kentucky is having a very cold spell this weekend.

I've been doing the A to Z Challenge 2016. It's interesting and I'm finding a few interesting blogs to read. Check it out for some interesting reading.

This is it for now folks!

Hugs, Sharon

F is for "Foreigner"

I am having quite a difficult time picking out what to post for this a to z challenge. Anyway, today I'm sharing with you some music from the band Foreigner. Their music is timeless and is as relevant today as it was when they first performed these songs.
