Freebies for E Readers

For those of you who enjoy reading romance novels, Harlequin offers a selection of free eBooks. They are in E Pub or pdf format but if your e reader uses a different format, you can download calibre to convert it to whatever your device uses. I'm always out for a good deal so I wanted to share this with you too.

Happy reading!

Edited:  Unfortunately, I discovered that for some reason Calibre will not convert these books. You can read them with Adobe Digital Edition Reader for your PC. There are other programs (not free) that you can use to convert these books so they can be read on Kindles but I know nothing about them. Sorry for misleading you, that wasn't my intention. I thought I found a good deal and wanted to share it.

Bloopers and Kindle Books

I love reading free books on my Kindle. Unfortunately, editing is obviously not a top priority with many authors of these freebies. I'm reading what I consider to be an excellent story but suddenly, I come to the first noticeable blooper.  "Every day he ordered a plate piled high with rubbery Salisbury Steak and lumpy mashed potatoes drowning in gravy. It was hot, it was fast and it was cheap, but it was barely editable." My newspaper is barely edible too.

Today is my birthday--a big, whopping 56. Hubby got me a tint job for the windows in my car to keep me cool (in more than 1 way) this summer.  Time to go now and snuggle up with the chi babies on the couch. Have a great night everyone.

Hugs to all,
Sharon

If You Use a Kindle--

You may like this site. It has loads of free books. Most of them seem to be written by new authors so if you like what you read then it is beneficial to them to write a nice review. If you don't care for them, then you may still write a review or just delete the book and no biggie because it was free anyway. I rarely buy books for my Kindle because there are so many good ones available for free. I think it is important to note, that many books are free for a short time so before you "check out" make sure that it is still free. I have accidentally paid for a couple books because I got click happy when checking out.  I always love a bargain and thought I'd share this one with you. If you don't have a Kindle, Amazon offers free software so that you can read their books on other devices.

Hugs...

Productive Friday...

Today has been a productive day. I am in the middle of processing pickles--5 quarts and 2 pints. I also made some homemade laundry soap. The best thing that I did today is related to a slightly embarrassing story. Some of you may remember that I was delighted last Christmas when I received a Kindle from dh. Well, I misplaced it in February! I knew it was in the house because I hadn't taken it out and the people who had visited were all extremely trustworthy. I had crawled under my bed, moved furniture and even looked in the bathroom for it without success. DH looked for it too. He would tease me about it every time he heard the word "Kindle." Today the word came up again and I went on a hunt that lasted only a minute or 2. There, between 2 other books was my Kindle! What a shocker--oh what a wonderful thing! So, there's my confession for the day.

I hope y'all are having a great weekend.

Edited to add:
p.s. I originally had this post titled "Productive Saturday..." and then I realized it was written about Friday! lol!

I'm Spoiled..

DH has spoiled me again this year. He bought me an electric yarn winder!  Whoo hoo! I'm gonna be a winding fool :). Even better than that is the Kindle he bought me! I'm sooo excited to have it. I've wanted one for quite some time. To be honest, I've been doing the Amazon Affiliate thingie and I've been trying to save my credits to get a Kindle but that  close-to-$20 I have wasn't getting there anytime soon (but I can download books with it). I'm really, really excited like a kid opening up a video game system or something like that. I've downloaded a free book already and I bet most of you can guess what book it is by looking at the picture. What do you the title of this book is?
