Finally the Blogs Are Up and Running...

Blogger is back on line. I was going through withdrawal. I've been trying to read the posts I've missed but on the reading list on my dashboard they're all mixed up with ones I've already read grrrrrr...

I've finished making all the squares for the latest granny 'ghan I'm working on and all the ends are woven in (so far). No picture of it for you yet so please be patient a little longer ok?

Here are a few pictures of the amateur nature preserve aka our yard:

Baby robins; 1 made 1st flight a few minutes after photo was taken.

A few of my flowers:

There is a story that goes with this next picture:

This rose was originally a rose tree but the top was totally broken off from the trunk. For 2 years I debated on where or not to dig it up and toss in the trash because it grew bushy, but didn't have blooms until this spring. I'm happy I kept it.

Believe it or not, these pretty little red roses are supposed to be carpet roses but they're growing like climbing roses for some reason...

Pretty irises

I hope y'all have a great weekend...

I Have a Mutated Rose Bush!

I have this climbing rose bush that has gorgeous orange roses. Well, it's supposed to have orange roses.  Last year, the early blooms were RED and subsequent blooms were orange.  This year, the first blooms were a  mixture of big orange and little red.  Hmmmm, the bush is crazy like the rest of us here lol!.  Anyway, here's a picture to check it out.

My garden with the exception of some garlic is planted.  The blue jays think I put out a buffet dinner for them.  I have to send the "babies"--Nellie Belle and Opi out to guard the veggies.  Right now, it's a challenge to see who will get the benefit of the vegetables--the birds or us.

Blooming Yard

Our yard has "bloomed" recently. I love flowers and I had to take pictures of some of the beautiful blooms there. I missed out on getting pictures of my snowball bush and lilacs so you'll just have to take my word for it that they were pretty too. Anyway, here are my other blooms for your pleasure.
The new azaleas.
I don't know what kind of bush this is but it is pretty.
This is a climbing rose bush. What is so unusual about it is that the roses on it are red and they are supposed to be ORANGE. Even odder, my next door neighbor has a RED rosebush and all his flowers are ORANGE!
The petunias are planted in the flower boxes. They'll really look great in a couple weeks when they fill out. The purple is a wave petunia.
Some of the purple irises in the front yard.
One of the peonies. Last year they didn't do well at all and I didn't even have one bloom. This year they're doing great.
Another one of the purple irises out front.
Some of the yellow irises by the pond in the backyard.
Some hen and chicks. We have so many of them that I often have to thin them out and toss them if no one wants them.
