I'm happy and pleased as punch that this afghan is finished. I made the squares almost a year ago but didn't crochet them together until now. I also improvised with enlarging it and the edging as I was working on it--it all came down to what yarn was available in my stash. There isn't a pattern for this--just make traditional granny squares in your choice of colors and sizes. Here's the pictures:
