Homemade Laundry Soap Tested

I tested my homemade laundry soap and so far it's great!  I haven't had any heavily soiled clothes to wash so I'll hold final judgement until I wash some of them.  So far, it's pretty darned good.    It was a little more expensive to make than I anticipated.  Of course, if I wouldn't have dropped broke part of the had a food processor malfunction (that I grated the soap with) then I wouldn't be looking at the cost of a new one before I start canning tomato sauce this summer.  Anyway, maybe it was time for a new one.  Y'all have a nice, clean clothes day lol!

  1. Hey there, I love my handmade laundry soap I have been doing that for a while now and I do the powder also, my recipe is closer to the #4. I thought mine was cheap to make and it last a long while. I don't have a processor so I just grated my soap with one of those stand up graters and then I let it dry and then I put it in this little grinder thingy I have and so far it works great I was worried about it not dissolving in the cold water but it does, I will never buy store bought already made again.

PS. I use the fels naptha bar soap.

  2. You inspired me Lynn! I've been looking for fels naptha bar soap and haven't been able to find any. I saw that several recipes used ivory so I gave it a try. It's taken me a while to make because I had stockpiled laundry soap so needed to use it up. I'm going to be a regular with the home made too.
