I'm just about finished with this afghan. This is the one I made the center from some squares that came with some yarn I picked up at a thrift store or yard sale. I only have the ends to weave in. I'm not sure why the edging is "ruffly." I made it a little different by putting 2 rounds of sc before I did the shells--I won't do that next time. All the yarn I used was leftovers from other projects.

This is so pretty. I really like the four squares in the middle. Really nice job.
ReplyDeleteI personally love "scrap-ghans" as they have so much personality! Using the pre-made squares in the middle is a really great idea too. The frilly edge (although seemingly unwanted) really does add a little charm to the blanket. Very nice indeed:)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Well done to you!
ReplyDeleteI love this! You've inspired me to try something similar, with smaller blocks put together and then the large granny worked around it.
ReplyDeleteLooks great and very cheerful Sharon Marie. Weaving in the ends is always the worst part of the "job". Hope you are having a great week. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Sharon - looks so Spring-y. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your nice comments. It's been a while since I finished something what with all the canning I've been doing. Tonight I'm going to weave in those ends and call it completely complete! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's looking very pretty
ReplyDeleteThis is pretty, Sharon! I like the ruffly edge, whether you meant to do it or not! Nice fresh colors too.
