Entry for May 11, 2008

Today is the 100th anniversary of the modern celebration of Mothers Day. Go here to read a little bit about this history of Mothers Day. Best wishes to all you moms!
Money Saving Tip-- Wash and reuse empty jars and plastic containers to put your leftovers in. I know those name-brand plastic food storage containers are pretty but they cost money and did you know that plastics are one of the products made from oil/oil byproducts? Reuse those empty peanut butter jars and those margarine tubs and save not only money but natural resources. Along the same lines, reuse those zipper plastic food bags. For daily use of food storage in the refrigerator or packing lunches, there is no problem with washing these bags and reusing several times. (Originally posted on my Yahoo 360 blog)
