We have this neighbor who is a bit unusual. He likes to take pictures of us from his front porch. Really creepy! He makes me feel like I'm a celebrity or something lol! I am dedicating this video to him.

Wildlife in the Suburbs :)
We're suckers for feeding the birds, squirrels and other wildlife in our neighborhood. On a tree by the driveway we have a squirrel cafe where the little critters can dine on corn we buy for them. Here are a couple little guys chowing down. I was hoping to get better pictures but they were skittish when they saw me with the camera. The one on your right is a tiny thing. So here they are:
Here is an overall view of the cafe.
Sorry about the junkyard-like house in the background. This is where the neighborhood paparazzi lives. He started taking pictures of our home and visitors again today. He also called the police because one guest had partially blocked the sidewalk with his vehicle. I did mention to the police officer that the car next to the red one has expired tags. I'm really tired of this guy!

A little bit closer view of the cafe.

Here's the bigger of the squirrels at the Squirrel Cafe!

Been Busy Lately

Life has been a bit hectic lately. This past week school has been on fall break so I haven't subbed any. I had to clear out my big walk-in closet (6' x 18') because my very talented younger son has been constructing build-in storage for me. YIPPEE, no more wire shelves that fall down! I will post pictures for you when it is finished. The construction is done except for the installation of 2 hanging bars. Justin designed it and did most of the construction himself with a little assistance from dh and a good friend of ours who has done finish carpentry in the Hamptons prior to relocating to KY. The pictures are before images. You can see in the one picture where the one wire shelf had fallen down. I had so much junk in the closet but was only able to "give up" one large boxful of "treasures." Sigh....I am such a hoarder.

Roof on Patio Finished!
We had a roof built over our patio this summer. It is great! We should be able to use the hot tub a little longer during the year, we won't have to sit directly in the sun, and the ceiling fans will help to keep us cool! This is something we've wanted for a long time. When we first started talking about it dh wanted to put one of those 1970ish metal roofs on. I vetoed that and guess who won? LOL!

Not so Sedentary Lately

I've been working this temp. job for the Census Bureau. I go door-to-door and put dots on a map for where the addresses for residences are. Not too difficult but rather exhausting for an old sedentary lady like me. I'd rather spend my day doing one of three things: reading, crocheting or surfing the Internet. Honestly, I actually enjoy the walking especially when the houses are close together otherwise I have to hop in and out of my car and that's not so much fun. Anyway, things on the home front are starting to fall apart--ok, not starting but have already! I saw this picture and thought it very appropriate lol! Hugs to all...

These are my irises that I transplanted last year from a spot that didn't get enough sunlight. They didn't bloom last year either due to a late freeze in the spring. I was amazed at how big they are and that they are yellow! I just wanted to share these with you. (Originally posted on my Yahoo 360 blog)

I had to add some pictures of my flowers. This year either my flowers have done great or have done horribly due to the frost we had on Easter weekend. Here's a picture. I've been trying to upload more photos to my album but for some reason it isn't working today. Oh well, maybe later. (Originally posted on my Yahoo 360 blog)
